It’s me again. 56 days in. Still writing a daily blogpost.
I honestly did not think I would be able to keep this up for as long as I have. So, that’s kind of nice.
Today I did absolutely nothing.
I virtually attended Anne Raeff’s book publication party/ discussion. That was fantastic. It’s always interesting to hear about other writers’ processes and thoughts. I especially appreciated a certain part of the conversation that had to do with open-mindedness and where open-minded people could be found. Raeff (or Anne? Not sure the correct way to refer to her. I know her? But also feel like being formal?) mentioned that she had met plenty of open-minded people with lots of formal education and an equal number who had no “formal education”. Likewise that there were close-minded people with and without a formal education as well.
I have also found this to be the case. I think the true differentiation between open and close-mindedness has nothing to do with location (city vs rural) or level of education or socioeconomic status. I think it’s simply a matter of valuing curiosity and maintaining the capacity to listen to other people.
That’s my opinion anyway. I’m sure there are plenty of other ideas out there.
The book is called “Only the River”, and I’m very much looking forward to reading it.
That’s all for today!
